Mallorca Bars and Cafes

Mallorca when the sun goes down, is the playground of the rich and famous who party alongside the not so rich (or famous) hordes of package holidaymakers.
Dress to kill girls, because you might just find yourself gyrating alongside the likes of Michael Douglas or Boris Becker at Palma's top nightspots.
The south west resorts of Magaluf, Palma and El Arenal - which these days more or less all merge into one - are where you'll find the hottest actions. The place is chock-a-block with late night music bars, discos, cabaret shows, foam parties, karaoke…
The top clubs in town include BCM Planet Dance which can accommodate 5,000 revellers at a time. The club attracts international DJs and puts on some spectacular hi-tech laser shows.
There are numerous disco pubs and bars with live music including The Rising Sun at C'An Pastilla - a must for soul fans as it's run by a member of the Drifters.

Burlington Bertie's & Kids Club

Abaco Bar

For many years the Abaco Bar has been and still is a must go for Palma visitors. Make sure to stop and this fantastic bar or be ready miss one of Palma's most impressive bars. Situated in the area of La Lonja , the Abaco Bar is a must to visit.

Over decorated and somewhat baroque on its forms, this an old manor house in the hearth of Palma and next to many restaurants. When going in, make sure you look at every room and every over-the-top flower display.

The place is expensive and a cocktail can be about 12 Euro or around. However, what is typical there is to have a fresh squeezed fruit of your choice (also notably expensive). Inside there is an old mallorcan patio which has been converted in to a lovely terrace where to seat and have the feeling of being to a wonderful garden with classical music and water flowing down as background ambient ad atmosphere.

The point is that this place has been catalogued as a part of the history so now the must allow people to enter and have look, even if they just want to have a quick look to its marvelous decoration.

If going, keep in mind that the close early and that during the weekends and the summer season its gets quite busy and crowded, so it is easy to find a large queue.

Abaco is the perfect place for an aperitif just before you enter in one of La Lonja's restaurants.

El Garito

A must go in Palma’s night life but also a nice and calm terrace. Everything from jazz, easy listening and Brazilian beats in one best clubs of Palma de Mallorca.

Bar Bosch

One of Palma's mystic bars, situated in the hearth of the shopping area. The meeting point for mallorcans.

Bar Maritimo

A well known bar in the sea side of the city, down the San Magin windmills. A nice terrace to stop for a while walking by Palma's Paseo Marítmo or for an early aperitif before having dinner.

Lontano

In the Santa Catalina area, a small and different bar, frequented by many of the foreign residents of the island.

Van Gogh Cafe

A young managed cafe a little bit outside of the typical areas. An inside terrace and a great selection of food is available here.

Puro Beach

1 Cala Estancia, Palma, Mallorca

I didn't want to like Puro. Too self-consciously trendy with its dazzling white loungers and parasols, ambient house tunes and designer waiters but I couldn't help it. It's like a little slice of Miami has been airlifted and plonked on the Mallorcan coast. I went with my friend Jo - we were en route to the airport and decided to stop off at Puro to prolong the holiday. The staff didn't look very impressed when we rocked up with our rucksacks but they were too polite to say anything. A couple of mojitos later we'd stopped caring whether we looked glamorous enough and were tempted to accidentally miss our flight home.
